Common dolphins throughout the trip, 3 harbour porpoise, an arctic skua, lots of shearwaters
23rd July – Puffins and gannets offshore
Gannets diving in a feeding frenzie very close to the boat, great view, lots of shearwaters around. Puffins dotted around throughout the trip, about 15 common dolphins, lots of atlantic grey seals
22nd July – More more more Rissos Dolphins
The morning offshore whale and dolphin watching trip saw more Common Dolphins, large variety of seabirds and atlantic grey seals, the afternoon whale and dolphin watching trip saw more Rissos Dolphins and Common Dolphins
21st July – Common Dolphins all around
Offshore trip out at the moment, has common dolphins popping out all around the boat.
20th July – afternoon whale and dolphin trip
Zeman just got back from the offshore trip and they saw Rissos Dolphins again, a smaller pod this time but great to see so many in the area, especially the amount they saw this morning.
20th July – Offshore whale and dolphin watching trips
On the offshore whale and dolphin watching trip on the jet boat this morning they was with a large pod of Rissos Dolphins. This picture of a Rissos Dolphins was taken by Janet Baxter a few years ago while on one of our trips. We also saw the usual lovely seabirds and Graassholm Island Gannet coloney.
14th July – Diving gannets off Small Lighthouse and South Bishops Lighthouse
Saw two Storm Petrels, lots of puffins, about 15 common dolphins but they didn’t stop, watched the feeding frenzie of gannets and shearwaters off the Small Lighthouse they saw two more small pods of common dolphins on the way back. Lots more diving gannets off South Bishops Lighthouse.
13th July – Atlantic Grey Seals on Ramsey Island
There are loads of Atlantic Grey Seals hauled out in Bachelor Bay on Ramsey Island. We came across common dolphins early into the trip but they didn’t want to play, small group of about 3 harbour porpoise, lots and lots of activity on Grasshholm.
11th July – Swarms of Compass Jelly Fish
Great sighting of one of the Peregrines off Ramsey Island and Swarms of Compass Jelly Fish and diving Gannets off Shoe Rock and thats before we left Ramsey Sound, saw 2 pods of common dolphins about 30 in one pod.
10th July – Guillimots and Razorbills
This was definately a guillimot and Razorbill boat trip day, they were rafting everywhere throughout the trip there were also a lot of Atlantic Grey Seals today.
