Thousand Islands Expeditions boat trips and ST Davids Lifeboat

Our ferry boat Gower Ranger helped a fishing boat in distress today, see St Davids Lifeboat report below:

Our Tamar launched on service at 11:30 this morning following a Mayday call from a vessel which was drifting on to rocks (The Bishops and Clerks) on the west side of Ramsey Island.

Luckily for the casualty, a 16.5ft day angling boat with 3 persons onboard, two local passenger boats also heard the Mayday call and responded. The Gower Ranger located and secured the vessel and towed her clear of Carreg Rhosson rock and the tidal race which surrounds the reef. Once we were on scene, we secured our tow rope and proceeded to tow “The Amigos” to Porthclais harbour. Once she was safely in the harbour, we were released from service and back at the station at 13:30.

We’d like to thank the Thousand Islands Expeditions vessel Gower Ranger and Voyages of Discovery vessel Viking Pioneer for their assistance today.
