Booking in advance is always advised and is the best way to guarantee a place on your trip of choice.
You can book online via our website
If you want more information about our trips or if you need any help making a booking, you can telephone, email or call into our booking office, which is based at the bottom of the Cross Square, in St.Davids, Pembrokeshire, for a chat with our lovely team.
All Sailings are both condition, and passenger number dependent.
Please give us a call in the office, or pop in for an update on conditions, no later than 1 hour before your trip is scheduled to depart.
If the weather is not suitable to sail and we cancel trips for safety reasons, you will receive either a full refund or if you wish to do so, we can transfer you to another day.
If you wish to cancel then you will need to do so 24 hours in advance.
For early morning trips, we advise call us the night before, as we will have a strong indication on how conditions will be looking
Please ensure you have the correct clothing before departing on one of our trips. We advise taking warm, waterproof clothing with you, as even on a nicer day it’s always colder at sea.
If we feel that you are not appropriately dressed, then we may decide the trip is not suitable for you, and you will not be allowed onboard the vessel and lose your booking. No refund would be possible.
We do operate when its raining.
Our trips run all year round if conditions allow, but it’s from March through until early November, which is our period of season.
Ramsey Island is open to the public from the 1st of April through to the 31st of October.
Grassholm/Offshore trips run from May through to the end of September.
Skomer Puffin trips run from April through to July/August, depending on when the Puffins start to depart from Skomer.
Evening cruise & Shearwater trips run from May through to September.
Our booking office is open 7 days a week from mid March through to the beginning of January.
Opening times are 0900 – 1700 out of peak season & 0830 until late throughout peak season.
Our boat trips depart from St Justinians Lifeboat Station, which is about 2 miles from the centre of St Davids, and our booking office. A fifthteen minute car journey, which to walk would take around forty five minutes. If you wish to cycle, there are a few bike racks located at the top of the steps.
There is parking at St Justinians, both free and paid. There is a free car park on the left hand side down at the departure point, which holds about twenty cars, and a paid field on the right, which costs £4 per car, cash only.
There are porta-loos situated near the bus stop at St Justinians, it is a good idea to use the loos before you make your way down the steps.
The local celtic coaster bus runs daily throughout the summer months, and drops off at various coastal points around the area, including our departure point. This operates from outside the local city hall, in St Davids.
You must meet our boarding master at the bottom of the concrete steps of the old lifeboat station 20 minutes before your trip time. That will give the boarding master time to check you in and lead you to the boat’s departure point safely so that you are ready to depart when the boat comes in. If you turn up late and miss your trip, we do not offer a refund.
Access to the lifeboat station requires walking down a flight of approximately 60 concrete steps. There are handrails most of the way down to the bottom, where you will be greeted by our boarding master.
You will then be required to head up a further 30 steps, with handrails to the top, to the old lifeboat station, before heading down the old slipway to board the boat.
If you need more information on access then please give us a call and we can go through it all thoroughly with you.
In order to receive a full refund, passengers must cancel their booking no later than 24 hours before their departure time.
We reserve the right to cancel trips without warning due to bad weather conditions or for safety reasons, in which case you will be offered an alternative trip or receive a full refund.
Prior to departure, and on arrival, a safety briefing will be given by our boarding master.
Please listen to the briefing, it is for your own safety.
The sea is an ever changing environment and all adventurous activities carry certain risks which should not be ignored.
Whilst booking in the office, it’s important that if you have a disability that you think may be aggravated by the movement of the boat, like a bad back, neck or if you are pregnant, then you need to let us know.
A Medical Declaration will be signed either at the office or down with the boarding master, and the skipper of the boat will be made fully aware of any passengers conditions.
If the Skipper feels that conditions are not suitable for you to join the trip, then that’s at his discretion, we will always put your safety first.
Our Fishguard Bay Boat Trips offer an alternative option for passengers with a disability or may struggle to board at St Justinians. Please contact our office regarding these trips, so we can go through the access point with you thoroughly, to ensure your comfortable prior to boarding.
We are thrilled to welcome dogs onto our trips around Ramsey Island. Both our Rasmey Island Adventure and our Evening Cruise & Shearwater trips allow dogs to join in, and enjoy a relaxed trip around the island.
Dogs cannot join our longer trips down to Skomer Island and out to Grassholm Island.
Only Registered assistance dogs are welcome onto Ramsey Island, but we must have prior notice of this.
