Breeding Bird Numbers – The figures are in for the 2016 breeding season. 39 species were confirmed breeding on Ramsey and the Bishops and Clerks this year. Headlines are that the number of Wheatear pairs is back up over 100 for the first time since 2012. Other climbers include Skylark, Stonechat and Meadow Pipit, all bouncing back after a mild winter. Short-eared owl makes a re-entry after an absence of one year and there are new entries for Wood Pigeon and Spotted Flycatcher breeding for the first time.
