Fishing trips from the Pembrokeshire coast

suitable for families, large groups, novices and for more experienced fishermen.

Blue shark is our dedicated fishing vessel, and the only fishing vessel within the area. We offer a range of fishing trips which are suitable for all abilities and experience levels.

Operating from St Justinians lifeboat station, we are situated on the west coast, which allows easy access to numerous fishing points both inshore and further out to sea.

We run our longer, full day trips over the weekend, and shorter trips throughout the week. Our vessel, which is fully equipped for our fishing trips, is manned by our experienced Skipper and Crew members who have a vast knowledge about the waters in which we fish.

Depending on the trip you book, our Blue Shark vessel will take from ten to twelve passengers on board, and allows a spacious platform perfect for fishing.

We are passionate about fishing and the waters in which we operate, so do our best to ensure fish stocks remain healthy, and operate sustainable fishing practices.

Our crew are there to help, so if there is something you’re not sure about, or if you need a hand using your rod, or bringing in your catch, then please ask, we want you to go away with incredible memories, and of course your dinner.

1.5 Hour Mackerel Fishing:

If You’re looking for a fun, unique way of spending time out on the water, then our Mackerel trip is just what you need.

Head out to Rasmey Sound, where we follow the tide in search of your dinner. Surrounded by the beautiful Pembrokeshire coast, you may even come across some of the local wildlife.

Our Mackerel fishing trips are perfect for first time fishers, families, groups and for even the more experienced, and offer fantastic opportunities for catching Mackerel.

We provide everything you need, so all you need to do is enjoy your time out on the water and wait for that first bite.

3 Hour Deep Sea:

Our 3 Hour Deep Sea fishing trip is designed for passengers who are after more of a challenge.

Ideally, we head 1.5 miles west of Ramsey Island nature reserve, out towards The Bishops and Clerks, a group of rocks which are subject to strong tidal currents, and have been the site of many shipwrecks over the years.

This trip gives passengers a strong chance of catching multiple species of fish, including Pollock, Wrasse, Codling, and occasionally Bass.

We always suggest wearing appropriate clothing for the 3 Hour trip. A warm top layer, a waterproof jacket, and some sturdy supportive footwear are recommended. The last thing you want is to lose your fish because you’ve not got supportive footwear on.

Fancy chartering the boat? We offer bespoke fishing trips, which are perfect for groups and families. Fishing is a wonderful outdoor activity, which can foster family bonding, allow connection to wildlife and make fun, memorable experiences.

Rods, reels and tackle are provided for all of our fishing trips and the skipper and crew are on hand if you require assistance.

We also offer a range of longer fishing trips which head further offshore, to reefs, sandbanks and to some old wrecks. For further information regarding these, please contact the office directly, or head over to our designated fishing website – www.bluesharkuk.com

What do I need to wear for my fishing trip? +

We do advise wearing warm clothing, and supportive footwear. We suggest always having a top layer to keep you warm and even a light waterproof jacket.

Do we need to bring our own equipment? +

No, you don’t have to bring your own equipment with you. We supply all the equipment needed for your fishing trip, the only thing we suggest you bring is a bag, so you can take your catch away with you. If you want to bring your own rod, then you’re more than welcome.

Do we need to wear a lifejacket whilst fishing? +

No, are vessels are high sided, fully coded, traditional boats, and life jackets are not required. The vessel will have life jackets on board if passengers wish to use them, but there is no requirement to do so. A safety brief will be given as we head out on each trip.

Can we take the catch away with us? +

Yes, if you catch an edible sized fish, then you’re more than welcome to take your catch home with you. We advise bringing a bag with you so that you can do so. We do our best to ensure fish don’t go to waste, so once a certain amount of species have been caught, we will switch to another, keeping numbers healthy.

There are some species which are protected, and so have to be returned. Any Sea Bass caught can only be kept during certain months of the year, between March 1st and October 31st, and this is limited to two per person.

Do we need any prior experience? +

No, prior experience is not needed. Our experienced crew are there to help and ensure you have a fun, memorable time out with us, so if there is anything you are unsure of, then just ask and we will assist.

We offer a range of fishing trips which are perfect for experienced fishers, or anyone who’s trying it for the first time.
