Questions

What’s the best way to book a trip? +

To book onto one of our trips, you can do so by either visiting our website (link to website), giving us a call in the office, or by popping into our office, which is situated in the centre of St Davids, at the bottom of the cross square.

Where does the boat depart from? +

Our trips depart from St. Justinians Lifeboat station, approximately  3 miles out of St. Davids, a 15 minute drive.

Where do we park for boat trips? +

There is plenty of parking at our departure point, St. Justinian’s. There are two laybys directly at the top of the steps, which lead down to where we depart from, and are free to park. In the peak season we also open up a pay & display car park, at a fee of £4.00 per car, and is cash only.

Do you allow dogs? +

Yes, We allow dogs on the Ramsey Island Adventure, this is our popular 1 ½ trip which navigates around Ramsey Island on our traditional vessel, which allows dogs plenty of space and comfort. Dogs are not permitted however to land on Ramsey Island, and are unable to go out on our longer trips down to Skomer and Grassholm.

Have you go disabled access? +

Unfortunately, due to the nature of where our trips run from, St.Justinians lifeboat station, we cannot allow for disabled access. There are approximately 60 steps down to the departure point, with a further 20 steps up, before accessing the vessel.

We do however offer trips with disabled access out of Fishguard Harbour, where we offer trips on of our RHIB vessels, in search of Dolphins. For further questions regarding these trips, and disabled access, then please contact our office in St Davids.

Are trips safe for all ages? +

Yes, we have a range of trips which suit the needs of people of all ages. We allow all ages over 6 weeks old, depending on the conditions on the day of trip, to join our 1 ½ Ramsey Island Adventure. Trips which venture further offshore do have age restrictions, due to having to travel over larger passages of water.

Do you offer a bus service? +

No, we do not have our own bus service to offer our passengers directly. We can however, arrange a bus service for large groups, which would be paid for by yourselves in advance. There is a local bus service called the ‘Celtic Coaster’ that departs from St.Davids hourly, through the peak season, and drops off at our departure point.

The best time of year to see the Puffins is from April, until the end of July. We run our 2 hr Skomer Puffin Spectacular trip, where the Puffins can be seen on the Islands in their thousands.

Do you take out passengers with any medical conditions? +

Prior to departure, either at the office when booking or down at the departure point (St Justinians), you will be asked if there are any medical conditions we need to be aware of. We will record any information given, and relay this to our skippers out on the water. From here we can determine if the conditions are suitable on that day for the medical conditions given.

What happens if my trip is canceled? +

There is always a chance of trips being canceled due to poor weather conditions. If this is the case, we will do our best to inform you with plenty of notice, and discuss further options with you. You will always have the option of joining an alternative trip, when conditions improve, but if you are unable to do so, you will get a full refund.

Please do ensure however, that you have somewhere safe to store them whilst the boat is navigating around the island.
