alongside a member of the RSPB team for a stunning and engaging tour of the island.
Join us for a guided walk at Ramsey Island, one of Wales’ most breathtaking nature reserves, located off the coast of Pembrokeshire. The walk will take place with a member of our RSPB team.
Learn about one of Pembrokeshire’s most important but least known birds, the Manx shearwater, and discover the story of another RSPB Island, Grassholm and its Gannets.
Witness the Atlantic Grey Seals, sunbathing and playing in the beaches and bays, before September and October comes around, where the Island becomes home to hundreds of fluffy white seal pups.
Along the way, you will learn about the island’s history and get a feeling for what it is like to live and work on a remote island today. Return to the farmhouse where volunteers and staff will be on hand to answer any questions.
This is a full day event. The morning’s guided walk lasts up to 4 hours, before spending the afternoon at your own leisure before returning at 1600 on our ferry boat.
Please ensure you take a packed lunch and plenty of fluid with you for your day over at the island. Ramsey offers some stunning views for you to relax and enjoy your lunch, and there will even be a chance to get a warm drink on return to the Islands shop.
The guided walk route is a 2.5 mile circular walk climbing over 100 meters. The path is rocky and rugged and very steep in places. It is important that attendees are physically able and suitably dressed. Sturdy footwear, warm waterproof layers and sunscreen are a must.
