We’re incredibly fortunate to have the opportunity to share our local islands rich marine life, and vast knowledge with our passengers, and nothing excites us more than sharing it with educational groups. Having the opportunity to provide trips which work alongside an educational curriculum, or which can be catered for particular needs, offering passengers an incredible chance to witness marine life in its most natural setting, Is something we are incredibly passionate about.
As well as the seeing all the local wildlife around the islands, such as the Atlantic Grey Seals, Harbor Porpoise, the Seal Pups and the thousands of Seabirds which return each year, the trips also provide groups the chance to learn about the history of the islands, hear some local tales, and understand how the varied geology makes up these mystical islands.
Ramsey Sound, which is home to the bitches and whelps, is a stretch of water which has been studied for years. Popular with both kayakers, and geographers, by taking our pupils to this area, it offers an insight into why some of the historical incidents which occurred, did so, what led to these incidents, and how important it is to respect the sea.
Our Ramsey Island Adventure allows pupils to immerse themselves in new, different, exciting environments, where learning may be less formal but sometimes more powerful.
Our highly experienced crew pride themselves on making our trips both fun and engaging, ensuring pupils take home some learnings along the way.
We hope to inspire all of our passengers, making them aware of the importance of marine life and conservation.
In 2022, and 2023, we were fortunate enough to fully fund children from a local school, to land on Ramsey island for the day, something which we are incredibly proud of, and something we will continue to aim to do.
